George Clooney will follow up the financially successful Monuments Men with a film based around the phone hacking scandal that engulfed the British press over the past couple of years.

Clooney will direct and produce 'Hack Attack' with his longtime creative partner Grant Heslov, with the script based around the investigation and subsequent arrest of a dozen journalists and employees of The News of the World newspaper. The Sunday tabloid was disbanded soon after only to be replaced by The Sunday Sun.

Clooney will next appear as an actor in the Brad Bird directed live action Disney flick Tomorrowland, while he also has a role in the new Coen Brother's production, 'Hail, Caesar.'

There is no doubt that Clooney is an extremely talented filmmaker and actor, but Monuments Men is easily his worst film as a helmer to date. Here's hoping this one is more like Ides of March and Good Night and Good Luck in terms of quality.
