Colin Firth is rumoured to be appearing in the upcoming remake of Gambit, scripted by Joel and Ethan Coen. The original 1966 action/comedy was a vehicle for Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine. Michael Hoffman, director of The Last Station, will take up helming duties. Firth is among those strongly tipped for an Oscar nomination for The King's Speech, so it will be interesting to see what direction his career takes from this point. Will he be content to appear in British Rom-Com's in future if he's got a gold statuette sitting on his mantle-piece? Time will tell.
