OK last week I said that you're not even going to notice Liam Hemsworth in The Hunger Games Catching Fire on account of Sam Clafin being the new bit of eye candy on the block. Today, I take that back. What is up with his Jersey Shore spray tan and N-Sync-esque highlighted hair and (we're assuming) over-bleached teeth? He looks less like the kind of guy who's going to go the distance in the mother of all fight-to-the-death battles (the Quarter Quell) and more like a former cherub who's grown up and now splits his time between working as an Abercrombie model by day and a Chippendale by night.
Granted, the dude's got abs, and traps, but did they really need so much bronzing? All I see when I look at this movie still is a stand in for Brendan Fraser on George of the Jungle while he himself was off getting his tanned topped up.
Other outlets tout this image as the one to 'make all the ladies swoon' as the anticipation for the next installment in Jennifer Lawrence's franchise grows with each passing week. Not so, unless Paulie D and The Situation are the kind of men to get you hot under the collar.
Here's hoping as the games get under way, Clafin here will work a bit of dirt in to his ensemble (or lackthereof) and we'll see his hair get all mussed up. Only then, will Lawrence's character Katniss find him in any way attractive.
