Details have begun to emerge about Ben Affleck's Batman, with early word suggesting that the Dark Knight will be "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it a while", according to Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara.

Affleck divided opinion when he was recently announced to fill Christian Bale's cape in the upcoming and untitled Man of Steel sequel, opposite Henry Cavill's Superman. The film is due out in 2015 with Zack Snyder behind the camera.

In contrast to some lukewarm fan reaction to Affleck's casting, Tsujihara insisted that he was the "perfect" choice for the film which "is going to be huge." He acknowledged that some of the reaction to Affleck has been less than enthusiastic but insisted that the correct decisions have been made.

"We think it's the perfect springboard for Batman and Superman", he said. "Ben is perfect for the vision Zack has for that character. The fact that you saw such a passionate response in the blogosphere is really kind of a testament to the love that people have for this character."
