Because why the hell not?

Fast & Furious 8, aka The Fate of the Furious, hit cinemas earlier this year, and given it made over $1 billion in the box office, it seems the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down.

As anyone (still) following the franchise knows, the stakes have gotten higher and higher, and the stunts bigger and bigger, with each film. Fast & Furious 8 featured a submarine scene while its predecessor Furious 7 included one scene in which a number of the team’s cars were airdropped for a mission, while in another, a car jumped through two skyscrapers.

The franchise is set to make two more movies and as many critics have commented, the only place really left for the series to go is outer space.

With this in mind, Fast & Furious 8 director F Gary Gray was asked about the possibility. He told ScreenRant: "Outer space? Listen, I wouldn't rule anything out with this franchise.

"When I read 'submarine' [in Fast & Furious 8], I'm like, 'OK, anything's possible'.

"You never know. I haven't read 'Dom on Mars' yet, but again, you just never know."

Well having done a submarine in the last one, a spaceship just seems like the natural order of things…
