Michael Fassbender has officially signed on to star opposite up and coming Swedish star, Noomi Rapace, in Ridley Scott's Alien (prequel, sequel... whatever) Prometheus, according to Heat Vision.
Fassbender will play an android in the film, after talks were initially opened with him last year but apparently fell through before Christmas. The film is described as an epic science fiction story that while maybe not a direct link to the Alien universe, has relatable elements. Scott has spent nearly a year prepping the flick, with Charlize Theron also linked to a major role.
Expect to see Prometheus in the summer of 2012.
