It just had to happen sooner or later didn’t it!? Fame is being remade into a new film, with a release date set even before the thing has been cast. It’s been scheduled for a release in September 2009, and will have a decent sized budget of about $30 million. With the inexplicable success of the Step Up series, it does seem like the right time to cash in. Just expect the lead’s mother to have died young, leaving them to fend for themselves and express emotions that can only be released through the art of dancing like they just downed too much Red Bull. The original was camper than a crotchless Batman suit, but had its moments; this one will more than likely go down the "dream" route and involve hippidy hop music.
