Easily one of the most highly anticipated films of 2014, Godzilla, debuts an extended trailer. For the first time, we get a look at just how huge the monster is and what it looks like. Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elisabeth Olsen, it tells the story of a giant sea-monster who comes ashore from the ocean and wreaks havoc on modern society. Edwards' previous film, Monsters, was an indie smash-hit. This is his first big-budget film.

Initial thoughts? We're excited. VERY excited. Edwards hasn't put a foot wrong so far and the trailers for Godzilla have been extraordinary in building mood and tension without telling us anything about the plot. That's the way trailers are supposed to look. They're supposed to be mood pieces, not a condensed version of the film.

Godzilla is on general release May 16th.
