Beano character lookalike and top British comedian Harry Hill has kick-started his film career into action, and like you would expect due to his TV status, he won't be starting off small. Already, the comedian known for his nonsensical gags and old school show formula has gathered an impressive cast. The best of British TV and film will appear in the as yet untitled film, including Julie Walters (Educating Rita, Harry Potter), Matt Lucas ( Little Britain, Bridesmaids), Inbetweeners' Simon Baird, recent TV BAFTA winner Sheridan Smith (Mrs Biggs) and Jim Boradbent (The Iron Lady, Bridget Jones' Diary).

To add to the surrealism, Mighty Boosh member Julian Barrett is also said to be cast, according to RTE Ten. Character comedian Mark Wootton (Arthur Christmas) is another addition. Some zany outtakes will have to appear from this set.

Wacky as ever, Hill explains the plot as a road-trip film in which he heads to Blackpool after finding out his hamster only has one week to live with the help (or hindrance) of his alcoholic grandmother (Walters) and Alsatian-raised twin brother Otto (Lucas). Madcap it is then.

If that doesn't get you pepped, remember the indie folk rock band The Magic Numbers? Their long awaited return is due to begin with this film. Mr Bean's Holiday director Steve Bendelack will direct the script written by Hill, Jon Forster and James Lamont.

Speaking about his first film Hill said ' I'm thrilled at last to be able to tell the world the true story of my hamster's struggle on the big screen and even more excited to be working with some of the comedy greats of the British film industry.' The Harry Hill movie will hit screens at the close of 2013.
