Eddie Murphy has indicated that he’s finally going to return to standup, after becoming disillusioned with acting. The actor said "I have close to fifty movies and it's like, why am I in the movies?" He then addressed Beverly Hills Cop 4 saying "I've done that part now. I'll go back to the stage and do standup." He went on to say that he doesn’t want to be part of the sequel because "it isn’t ready to be done". No one told Brett Ratner this though, as the director was spewing to Latino Review around the same time that "this is going to be a hard core 'R' Beverly Hills Cop. I start shooting next year." Eh, you should have a word with your leading man, mate. I’ve been waiting for the day Murphy returned to standup. The man shone on the stage when comedy was his main career, and I for one would love to see him back to his best. His latest film Meet Dave is another kiddie flick and opens on July 18th.
