The Dublin Film Critics Circle today published their Best of 2014 poll with a few surprises, to say the least.

Boyhood was the big winner, scoring Best Film and Richard Linklater as Best Director. Meanwhile, Frank won by a landslide as Best Irish Film while Jack O'Connell won Best Breakthrough for his performance in thriller '71 and prison drama Starred Up.

O'Connell will next appear in Angelina Jolie's Oscar-baiting drama Unbroken.

Best Actor went to Jake Gyllenhaal for his disturbing performance as Lou Bloom in Nightcrawler while Marion Cotillard won Best Actress for Two Days, One Night.
