Steven Soderbergh is in the early stages of developing a biopic about Liberace, with Michael Douglas already attached to play the closet-cased pianist (steady now) who was sued by his alleged lover Scott Thorson for denying their relationship - Matt Damon is in talks to play Thorson. The famed entertainer died of aids in 1987, and always firmly denied that he liked swinging pipe, even to the bitter end. Richard LaGravanese (who wrote and directed P.S I Love You) is penning the script for the ever busy helmer to move into preproduction. Soderbergh is currently prepping his hooker film The Girlfriend Experience, and will shoot that first.
