Hurray for the countless minion fans among you, Despicable Me 3 is coming to a screen near you and it just got itself a release date.

OK so you probably wouldn't want to sit tight for fear you might begin to wither away; it's a little far off at June 30th 2017. Still though, nice to have it in the bag, right? As per Variety, the third installment in the enormously successful franchise is an animated comedy about courage, competition and carrying a tune. It will be written and directed by Garth Jennings who's most known for helming Son of Rambo.

While you'll be waiting a while to see more from Steve Carrell's Gru, you won't be minion-less for quite as long as a spin-off movie called 'Minion's is also currently in the works. That'll hit our cinema screens in July of next year. And let's face it, the minions are the absolute best thing about Despicable Me, right? Well, them and Agnes.
