The Spider-Man reboot is continuing to take shape. Heat Vision Blog is saying that Denis Leary, known for his acerbic comedic style and his performances in hit US show Rescue Me, is in advanced talks to play Police Captain George Stacy, father to Gwen Stacy who is to be played by the lovely Emma Stone. Leary will bring a unique style to the flick, a gruffness that was perhaps lacking from the Sam Raimi incarnations. Previous casting for the film has included The Social Network breakout star Andrew Garfield as Spidey himself, as well as Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The shoot in scheduled to commence before the end of 2010.
