If you're one of the many people that helped make Deadpool the highest grossing R-rated films of all time then we have good news for you. We're getting a sequel sooner than expected.

We knew that the green light for the sequel had been announced shortly after the movie's release but we didn't expect the cameras to start rolling so soon. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Deadpool producer Simon Kinberg said that the script for the sequel only needs some finishing touches and that they should be filming in early 2017.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo behind the first movie are once again on scripting duties and original director Tim Miller is also signed up to direct the sequel.

Fox have yet to announce a release date but if filming does go ahead in early 2017 then expect to see Deadpool 2 in cinemas at some point in 2018.
