Danny Boyle has hinted that he may direct horror sequel 28 Months Later. According to SciFi.com he said "I'd certainly like to," as he waxed lyrical promoting his latest film Slumdog Millionaire: "I feel the idea is quite a strong idea, and it could well involve directing it. Yeah, absolutely." Paul Williams, who directed The Cottage and London To Brighton has previously been thought to be in the frame to direct; but Boyle essentially created the franchise, directing the first brilliant film and executive producing the well received sequel, so if he wanted to wield the megaphone again he damn well could.
