Russell Crowe is being linked with a biopic of the late great comedian Bill Hicks. The actor has a hole in his schedule after his latest Ridley Scott effort Nottingham was pushed back indefinitely after script problems. A treatment by Kiwi scribe Mark Staufer is thought to have been good enough to get the cantankerous actors attention, and he will now pen a full script. Hicks is easily one of the most influential comedians of all time, with his acerbic humour still echoing around many a student home, despite his untimely death in the early 90’s. Crowe is actually a very good fit in terms of appearance, and this could be a very interesting role for the Oscar winner.
