Critics Choice Awards 2018: 'Three Billboards...', 'I, Tonya' and 'The Shape of Water' among winners

'Get Out' finally got some glory but 'Lady Bird' was snubbed all round with zero wins from seven nominations.

While the Critics' Choice Awards may not be the biggest date in the awards season calendar, they do hold some sway in terms of Oscar predictions, coming as they do at the end of the Academy voting window. Only two out of the last ten Best Picture winners have not gone on to win Best Picture at the Oscars, with the same being said for Best Actor while Best Actress falls to five out of the last ten.

That being said, there could be a few surprises in store for the Oscars after last night, as 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' and 'The Shape of Water' stormed through, the latter taking Best Picture and Best Director, while Sam Rockwell and Frances McDormund repeated their Golden Globes glory with awards for their roles in 'Three Billboards...'.

Elsewhere there was visible surprise on Margot Robbie's face when she won Best Actress in a Comedy for 'I, Tonya', while Allison Janney took Best Supporting Actress for her role as LaVona Harding, pretty much cementing her as the Oscar frontrunner.

There was also some love for 'Get Out' and 'Call Me By Your Name' in the screenplay categories, and Roger Deakins got a much deserved award for Best Cinematography for 'Blade Runner 2049'.
