For those of you who've ever dreamed of seeing your name in lights, now's your change. Movieextras.ie will be holding an open casting weekend Friday 15th-Sunday 17th July at Dublin's Westbury Hotel. MovieExtras, founded in 2002, is now working with their 1000th production, having worked with productions including Fair City, The Tudors and currently the film Shadow Dancer (with Aidan Gillen, Clive Owen and Gillian Anderson).
Other productions have included Camelot, The Apprentice, Podge & Rodge, ROY TWO, Superhero, 24 Hours to Kill and a documentary on 1916. MovieExtras.ie members have also starred in adverts for Bank of Ireland, An Post, Budweiser, KBC Bank and the Lynx Fallen Angel promotion amongst many others. And for football enthusiasts, members were part of a TV3 advert for the UEFA Final. So if acting is your thing, this might be the way in.
Many famous stars began their career as an extra including Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck 'so you never know, this could be the start of something big!' says Derek Quinn, Director and co-founder of MovieExtras.ie.
