The Coen brothers have silenced the rumour mill - there is no The Big Lebowski sequel in development. Last year a number of media outlets fuelled the rumours by reporting that The Big Lebowski 2 would be getting an October 2015 release with a plot centered around the character Jesus from the original.

And although the Coens have confirmed that director John Turturro would be up for making the sequel, the brother have no intention of getting on board. Here's what Ethan Coen had to say on the matter:

"John Turturro, who wants it, talks to us incessantly about doing a sequel about his character Jesus. He even has the story worked out, which he's pitched to us a few times, but I can't really remember it. No, I don't see it in our future."

Joel Cohen added: "I don't think it's going to happen. I just don't like sequels."

Wow, what a pair of party poopers. What you think? Are you gutted by the news that this definitely won’t be happening or are you relieved that the Dude’s legacy will give remain untouched?
