In a strange piece of news, talented, but inexplicably crap lately, director Neil LaBute has signed on to direct a remake of last year's British comedy Death at a Funeral. In somewhat even stranger news, the film will be written by and star Chris Rock. LaBute has just signed a deal with Screen Gems Entertainment, who just released his last film Lakeview Terrace to solid box-office. Rock is still the best comedian in the world, bar none; his latest special Shoot the Messenger is a constant crack-up from beginning to end. That said, he's yet to make a truly good film. LaBute meanwhile, is an incredibly gifted writer, who has been churning out some absolute crap lately. Let's hope this is a new cinematic beginning for both star and director
