Chris Pine has signed on to his first post Star Trek role, after he was inundated with leading man offers. The in-demand actor will star opposite Denzel Washington in the Tony Scott-helmed action thriller Unstoppable. The film will be loosely based on the true story of a runaway train full of chemicals, that was hotly pursued by a young conductor (Pine) and an experienced engineer (Washington). According to Variety, Pine signed on for the film ahead of several others after he had dinner with Washington and Scott, and they convinced him to sign on. The film is apparently ready to roll, and will start shooting in August. Washington and Scott have another train centring thriller, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 due for release later this month.
