For many 90s children, Scar pushing Mufasa off the cliff into the buffalo stampede was a defining moment. That whole scene left me so traumatised I had to be brought out of the cinema and it still shakes me to this day.

Given how pivotal that moment is for the film, the casting of Scar has to be just right. He has to be evil and menacing, but you also need to buy him as someone Mufasa would trust. Jeremy Irons took on the role in the 1994 film.

According to The Wrap, Chiwetel Ejiofor is currently in talks for the role. Ejiofor was Oscar nominated for his role in 12 Years A Slave and has also starred in The Martian and Doctor Strange. He would join Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, John Oliver, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner who have already been confirmed.

Jon Favreau got his villain casting spot on when he picked Idris Elba to voice Shere Khan in The Jungle Book, We have faith he can find the perfect Scar as well.
