YA adaptations might have had their day and ended when 'The Hunger Games' and 'Harry Potter' wrapped themselves up, but 'Chaos Walking' is making a case for its existence.

For one, it's got 'Edge of Tomorrow' director Doug Liman behind the camera. Not only that, it's got soon-to-be A-listers Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley on board, and it's got a script by the original author and Christopher Ford, who wrote 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and 'Robot & Frank', one of the most underrated sci-fi dramas of the past decade.

'Chaos Walking' sees a young woman named Viola land on a recently colonised planet where men are surrounded by a visual manifestation of their thoughts, called Noise, as a result of a virus from the planet's local inhabitants who have since been wiped out. Needless to say, things aren't what they seem on the planet and Viola's presence on a planet full of men sparks events into action that will have grave consequences for all concerned.

The source novel, 'The Knife Of Never Letting Go', won the Guardian Award and topped the bestseller list in 2008 when it was first released, with an adaptation announced in 2011 and casting confirmed by 2016. Needless to say, the pandemic pushed back the movie's release date and hampered production, with a release date not even confirmed with this trailer.

Take a look.
