Hollywood is well back from its summer holibobs and is ready to get those lazy A-listers off their collective bums. Three interesting casting announcements have just been made that should give them all a lift.

First up, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed that Sundance darling Lake Bell is to star in The Coup with Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan. It follows an American family living in Southeast Asia who get tangled up in a bloody revolution. We're more used to seeing Bell in comedic roles, so it will be interesting to see how she tackles this more adventurous fare.

THR also revealed in another exclusive that Game of Thrones stand-out Peter Dinklage is to take the lead role in what is to be an R-rated comedy (oo-er!) along the veins of smutty hit Bad Santa. The story will revolve around Dinklage's character who tells people that he is a real-life leprechaun. Maybe he will visit Ireland at some stage in the name of research? Here's hoping!

And finally came the news that Anthony Hopkins is gearing up to play Alfred 'Freddy' Heineken in another upcoming thriller, Kidnapping Freddy Heineken. Guess what it's about? Yep, you'd be right there, Ted. It is actually a true story about the grandson of the Heineken brewery founder who was kidnapped in 1983. His release cost 35 million Dutch guilders - the largest ransom ever paid at the time. He'll be in hot company as Jim Sturgess, Sam Worthington and Ryan Kwanten all co-star.

Filming will begin soon on all three projects. Looks like we will have plenty to look forward to in the near future.
