In some great casting, Steve Carrell and Tina Fey will star in the comedy Date Night, about a couple who find their routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and a movie. That is the kind of simplistic sounding plot that these two comedy heavyweights can easily transcend; but then take into the equation that Shawn Levy (The Pink Panther, Night at the Museum) is the man wielding the megaphone, and the excitement soon dwindles to a damn whimper. Levy is another "shooter" who makes basic comedies with casts brimming with talent. Let’s hope Carrell and Fey have some creative input with the script and make this one as enjoyable as it should be.
