If you were wondering if Hollywood was running out of ideas that this will probably hammer home that yes, they really have. According to Dark Horizons, there will be a Captain Planet movie.
The film will be based on the 90s cartoon about a blue dude, with a penchant for tights and mullets, who lead a group called "The Planeteers" to battle the world's worst eco-villains. They're probably gonna walk right up to the door of the main dude in BP and beat the living sh*t out of him. It'd be a short movie, but my would it be effective.
Transformers producer and straight-shooter extraordinaire, Dan Murphy, is behind this one. I like Murphy, but even when I was 9 I remember thinking that show was crap and I enjoyed kicking a ball against a wall back then.
