The Proposal looks like being one of Sandra Bullock's biggest hits, and her first in ten years, as the romantic comedy that co-stars Ryan Reynolds bagged a huge $34.1 million opening weekend, topping the charts ahead of mammoth-hit holdover The Hangover, which held second spot with $26.8 million. The Todd Philips directed comedy has now coined an incredible $153 million and counting. Elsewhere, Year One was the only other new entry in the charts, taking a decent $20 million, giving it enough to place in fourth spot. The Jack Black/Michael Cera starrer had a production budget of about $60 million, The Hangover's was $35 million.
