If, like me, you've been harbouring some elusive pipe dreams of becoming a multi-millionaire some day, you must try to remember one tiny detail: someone will inevitably set out to sue your ass for all it's worth.

That's the current situation faced by James Cameron. Now for some reason, Mr Cameron seems to be generally unliked, so maybe this is good news to some of you. Anyhoo, a British artist is claiming that Cameron went out of his way to pilfer his images, designed for music album covers etc, and based the whole Avatar movie around said drawings. 'Cause he was definitely the first person to ever do something colourful against a blue-skied backdrop.

British artist Roger Dean ain't taking no shit, though. He wants what he considers the fair sum of $50 million; perfectly proportionate to the damages done, don'tcha think?

4 years after the movie's release, Dean claims Cameron exercised "wilful and deliberate copying, dissemination and exploitation" of his stuff.

Though it's highly likely that Dean is just a chancer, even if he does succeed with his lawsuit, it's hardly going to be dent in the pockets of this director. Avatar remains the highest grossing film of all time, raking in 2.8 BILLION dollars (wasn't Dr. Evil way off in Austin Powers?). Add to that the two sequels that are on the way and Cameron's laughing all the way to the bank. Maybe we should find some obscure reason to sue him too. Any ideas?
