Bridesmaids director and creator of the brilliant series, Freaks and Geeks, Paul Feig has apparently agreed to direct the comedy, The Better Woman.

According to Variety, 'Woman' would centre on "a high-powered young executive who is dumped by her boyfriend for an older woman. She befriends the woman to discover why her boyfriend chose her, and rediscovers herself in the process." The script is being penned by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who worked on the much loved, often repeated show, Gilmore Girls. Feig was briefly attached to Bridget Jones's Diary 3, but pulled out of that sequel soon after becoming involved. He's also being linked with returning to Bridesmaids' world for a Kristen Wiig-less sequel.

I interviewed Feig during the summer when he and the cast of Bridesmaids came to Dublin and he was a very charming and funny guy - with an obvious gift for character. I'm looking forward to seeing whatever he does next.
