Brad Pitt's latest collaboration with David Fincher, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is being called the best performance of his career, while the film itself is now being tipped as the Oscar frontrunner to beat. Influential trade paper The Hollywood Reporter called the film "pure cinema" and remarked that it was "winningly acted by Brad Pitt in his most impressive outing to date." Many have remarked that Fincher's last film, Zodiac, was robbed of a Best Picture nomination last year, as it was released too early for academy voters to remember it come Oscar season. Thus, 'Button' will bow at the latest possible time in the states, to still be eligible for nomination. This year's other early frontrunner is Milk, starring Sean Penn and directed by Gus Van Sant.
