Billy Bob Thornton is officially in talks to reprise his role in the comedy sequel Bad Santa 2 according to Darkhorizons.com by way of The Wrap.
The Weinstein Company are behind both the (brilliant) original film and its proposed sequel, and are apparently also looking to do follow-ups for Matt Damon/Ed Norton starrer Rounders and Oscar winner, Shakespeare in Love. Not two films that had obvious sequel potential. Another Bad Santa film has been mooted for a long time, though. If you haven't seen the film check it out - it's filthy - even the reshot ending is hilarious.
No word on a director or script which isn't a great sign when negotiations have already begun with Thornton, but if he's smart he'll insist on bringing back original helmer, Terry Zwigoff.
