Bill Murray is set to return as Dr. Peter Venkman in Jason Reitman's upcoming 'Ghostbusters' threequel / reboot / who knows.

The scuttlebutt had been for some time that Murray, Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson were all set to return, and now it appears official. Speaking in an interview with The Greg Hill Show on local radio station WEEI in Boston, Aykroyd confirmed Murray's return.

As well as this, Aykroyd teased the script written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan as "a beautiful, heartfelt script that takes the real DNA from the first two movies and transfers that directly to the third, the next generation."

As you'd expect from Bill Murray, he hasn't yet confirmed Aykroyd's announcement, but it does track with what Sigourney Weaver said earlier in the year about the original cast returning. The movie itself appeared out of nowhere, and has been pretty much under wraps bar the odd set photo here and there.

Not even the official title has been confirmed, nor has any plot details been revealed. All that's known and confirmed so far is the working title for the movie - 'Rust City' - and the release date of July 10th, 2020.

For now, let's leave you with one of the best one-liners in cinematic history.
