As we reported some time ago, the Hocus Pocus sequel with Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker is deader than dead - and now, a Hocus Pocus remake is on its way.
Undoubtedly, it's going to be terrible because there's nothing on Earth that can possibly come close to even matching or replacing the original. Not only that, when you have the cast of the original ready and able to do a sequel, the whole thing just smacks of cheapness - which is exactly what Bette Midler said when questioned on the topic by People.
"I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!", said Midler. Neither she nor either of the other two Sanderson sisters are involved, nor does she know who's playing Winifred Sanderson. "My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that."
Two words for a possible Winifred Sanderson - Megan Mulally from Parks & Rec / Will & Grace.
