For those of you wondering what Justice League is all about, it's basically DC's answer to Marvel's Avengers and a highly anticipated one too. Where Avengers brought Thor, Iron Man and the rest of their ass kicking heroes together in one box office busting movie, Justice League will attempt the same by bringing together the Dark Knight, the Green Lantern, Superman, Wonderwoman and The Flash among others. Whether it will achieve the same monetary success, we have no idea. We also don't yet know what's happening with the cast. We presume Henry Cavill will reprise his Superman role after 2013's Man of Steel but we're pretty sure Christian Bale's closed the book on Batman.

What we do know is that the script is currently being penned by Will Beall (Gangster Squad). Also set in stone is the fact that Chris Nolan has no intention of being involved - be it directing or producing - despite the presence of his Dark Knight. What's more, Ben Affleck who was loosely linked to the project has come out to say he also will have no involvement. It was announced earlier this year that Affleck was the man most wanted by Warner Bros to helm the live action project. Alas, as of this weekend, Affleck said: "I'm not working on the Justice League... One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that's how rumours get started... Justice League sounds really exciting, but it's not something I'm working on."

However, as Total Film report, the forthcoming ensemble piece may well have found what it's looking for with Matrix directors, the Wachowskis. Warner Bros are apparently such big fans of their back catalogue of work, they're now considered as serious contenders to helm Justice League. The duo most famous for their rejuvenation of the sci-fi genre back in the late 90s, have just wrapped on 2013's book adaptation of Cloud Atlas.

What do you think, do the Wachowskis have what it takes? Who do you think would be the perfect fit?
