This year's ceremony was more than a little confusing for quite a number of reasons.

Although The Revenant won out in its expected categories, our own Room and Brooklyn were tipped to win out for Best Adapted Screenplay. Instead, both lost out to Adam McKay's The Big Short. Brooklyn, meanwhile, won decisively with Outstanding British Film (it was co-financed by the BBC, before you get the pitchforks) and Inside Out also won rightfully for Best Animated Film.
