Marvel's Avengers Assemble smashed a shitload of records this weekend at the North American box-office.

Actually out-grossing expectations (which rarely happens) it managed to not just pass the $200 million mark in its first three days of release, but actually go as high as $207 million. That puts its worldwide gross at a staggeringly $654 million and counting, and it should pass the billion dollar mark in the coming weeks. It also had the highest Saturday and Sunday single day grosses ever at the domestic box-office, which is a huge indicator of strong word of mouth. Almost unanimously positive reviews would've helped with that.

The film is, of course, in Irish cinemas right now and is a f**king blast.
