James Cameron's producing partner Jon Landau has revealed that the sequels to Avatar are still quite a while off.
Landau spewed to Bleeding Cool, that another film in the series was at least 3 years away. That means we won't be seeing any magical, tall, blue people until at least Christmas 2015 - or unless The Smurfs take a stretch between now and then. Cameron would plan on filming them back-to-back and then release Avatar 3 the following year.
I quite liked the original, even if some folk absolutely detested it. Sure, the script was derivative of other movies but the scale and 3D was truly spectacular. *ducks
