It looks like he will be back after all.

Back in March there were strong rumours that Schwarzenegger was done with the Terminator franchise and in fairness, after five films that have been getting increasingly poor in quality, who could blame him?

However, when it asked directly about Terminator at Cannes over the weekend, Schwarzenegger said he will indeed be returning for the next Terminator film.

“It is back,” Schwarzenegger said before revealing that he'd met with James Cameron to discuss the project. “It is moving forward. He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise,” the actor added, “I will be in the movie.”

Earlier this year it was confirmed that James Cameron will be returning to the franchise as a producer once the rights to the film revert back to him in 2019. Deadpool's Tim Miller was reportedly being courted to direct the next film. Little to no detail has been given thus far about what the aforementioned 'good ideas' might be but it is believed that any new film is likely to completely disregard all of the Terminator films that came after T2: Judgement Day.
