For lovers of film and Indian culture as a whole, this September will see the 5th Annual Indian Film Festival of Ireland take place.

Running from the 19th to the 22nd of next month, the weekend will showcase some of the Indian Film Industry's best movies. Considering the country produces over 1,000 movies a year, the choice is pretty varied, but the festival will, as always, focus on four categories for filmmakers: Director in Focus, Star in Retrospective, the Debut Director and the Indian Diaspora Director.

During the four days of the festival, the IFFI will play host to discussions with the visiting film directors, as well as the writers, while also playing some of the best Indian films, both old and new.

@movies will be the focal point of the screenings, while some will also take place in the Irish Film Institute, DIT, DCU, and the Chester Beaty Library.

Not excited enough already, then have a look at this trailer for the festival.

Be sure to check back on the 10th of September, as we'll be putting up a schedule for the festival, so you can plan your weekend well in advance.
