Ant-Man was a surprise hit when it was released in 2015. It had been in development for nearly a decade, with numerous changes in personnel and script revisions. Despite the chaotic process, the finished product was a success, grossing over $500 million worldwide.

With those kinds of numbers, a sequel was inevitable and Ant-Man and The Wasp is now officially in production. Marvel made the announcement with a short teaser video, complete with miniature Ant-Man and Wasp chairs.

Paul Rudd is reprising his role as Ant-Man, as will Evangeline Lilly who will be playing The Wasp. Michael Pena, Michael Douglas, Judy Greer and TI all return. British actress Hannah John-Kamen has joined the cast in an unspecified 'key role', with Michelle Pfeiffer, Walton Goggins, Laurence Fishburne and Randall Park also coming on board.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is scheduled for a July 2018 release.
