While it may feel like 2020 is truly the annus horribilis (look it up) of our times, things aren't so bad that a supposedly cursed doll is on the loose.
The story goes that the doll was previously given to a nurse in the '70s, who noticed strange things happening whenever it was nearby. The nurse then brought the doll to the Warrens, who declared that it was inhabited with the spirit of a girl called Annabelle.
The doll, which is a Raggedy Ann doll, was then kept in the Warrens' Occult Museum inside a glass box, much like the movie itself. How the rumours got started on Twitter, nobody's really sure, but it looks like it was all for naught.
In a video posted to the Official Ed and Lorraine Warren Channel on YouTube, Tony Spera, who is Ed and Lorraine's son-in-law, was good enough to put everyone's fears to the rest and remind people that, yes, Annabelle is firmly encased behind glass with a crucifix over the case.
"Annabelle's alive — well, I shouldn't say alive — Annabelle's here, in all her infamous glory. She never left the museum," Spera announced, turning the selfie video to reveal the doll.
Here's the video in question.
