Good idea, bad idea? A sequel to It's a Wonderful Life is being made, for realsies.

It's a Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story will follow Zuzu, George Bailey's little daughter played by Karolyn Grimes in the 1946 original, who will reprise her role (!) but this time she's the angel who shows George Bailey's d*ck of a grandson how much better the world would have been had he never been born. Harsh.

Variety report that the film is expected to be released in time for Christmas 2015.

Producer and writer Bob Farnsworth said,"The storyline of the new film retains the spirit of the original - every life is important as long as you have friends." So George Bailey's grandson doesn't get his comeuppance? This sounds more and more like A Christmas Carol. Hmmm.

While the actor to play the mean old Scrooge type character has not yet been cast, original cast members Jimmy Hawkins (Tommy Bailey) and Carol Coombs (Janie Bailey) are reportedly in talks to appear in the new film.
