Amy Adams is set to play Lois Lane in the eagerly awaited Man of Steel and has revealed she will offer a new take on the character even down to her hair colour.
In early stills on the set of the film Adams has been seen sporting her usual strawberry blonde locks as opposed to the trademark black hair Lois Lane had in previous makes. Speaking about the role on the tour of her latest film 'The Master' Adams said 'This was a new idea, down to the hair colour,' she said 'I knew people would want to talk about my hair colour. It was going to be a thing.Zack told me he didn't hire me to play someone else. He hired me to play Lois Lane. It's a whole reimagining' . When questioned on how different the character would be Adams said 'I think she is a little more… we will have to see,' she said 'I don't know. I mean, she is definitely a pistol still and she definitely gets herself in a lot of trouble still.'
Adams revealed she was intimiated by playing the role 'because it was played before by Margot Kidder, whom I love. One of my favorite movies growing up was 'Superman' and 'Superman 2.' I was kind of a nerd, I loved them so much'
Margot Kidder first took on the role of Lois Lane in 1978, speaking about having to step into her shoes Adams said 'I grew up really loving (her). I wasn't trying to be her, but I hope I do enough of a good job to have the same effect on young girls as Lois Lane had on me. I really loved seeing a woman represented as a modern woman in a superhero movie, and not even glamourized, really - she was kind of a troublemaker. She wasn't a typical heroine. I identified with her from a very young age.
Adams is set to star alongside Henry Cavill who will take on the role of superman in Snyders reboot of the series. The film has ralready been called 'mind blowing' by actor Michael Shannon who plays General Zod and with Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas among the film producers we have no doubt it will be.
