The increasingly in demand Amy Adams continues her attempts to make up for Leap Year by attaching herself to some meaty projects. The latest of which is particularly meaty...

Adams has joined the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, where she'll star opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix. The story is focus on the relationship between The Master (to be played by Hoffman), "a charismatic intellectual who hatches a faith-based organization that begins to catch on in America in 1952," and the 20-something alcoholic drifter (Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man. Initially the 20-something drifter was to be played by the almost 40 Jeremy Renner, but will be played by the almost 37 Phoenix.

Adams will apparently shoot The Master before she gets to work on Man of Steel as Lois Lane, so this one will be going before cameras soon.
