The very lovely Alice Eve (she starred in the last few episodes of Entourage and the romantic comedy She's Out of My League) is in talks to join the cast of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel, reports Variety.

According to the trade paper, Eve beat out gorgeous Aussie actress Teresa Palmer for the still undisclosed part, and is looking likely to join a production that may also include Benicio Del Toro as the villain. Abrams is really gearing up to begin shooting, with the entire main cast from the first film - including Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto - set to return.

The first film caught everyone by surprise and was a huge commercial and critical success, with funding studio Paramount then trying to lock down Abrams to come back for a while. They even let him make passion project, Super 8, the interim. Although, in fairness, he made them a fortune with that one too. Expect to see this in early 2013.
