One of the most hotly anticipated films of 2015, Ex Machina will get its first Irish screening in the IFI, Dublin on January 19th.

Director Alex Garland and star Domnhall Gleeson will be in attendance and will discuss the film briefly before the film kicks off.

Domhnall Gleeson plays a young programmer who wins a competition to spend a week with the CEO of the world's largest Internet company at his secluded retreat.

Once there, he realises that there's more to the house and the CEO than meets the eye.

The CEO has developed a walking, talking, sentient robot with the face of a beautiful woman, whom Gleeson must determine if it's sentient.

It's a fascinating idea and Alex Garland has a history of thought-provoking sci-fi films, such as 28 Days Later and Never Let Me Go.

Ex Machina is released in cinemas from January 23rd.
