The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the hugely talented Casey Affleck will team up with Jessica Alba and director Michael Winterbottom for the thriller, The Killer Inside of Me. Based on the novel by Jim Thompson, the story follows a West Texas sheriff (Affleck) and his downward spiral from a boring small-town cop into a ruthless, sociopathic murderer. Sounds suitably mental, while Winterbottom is an extremely steady hand at dealing with the overtly dramatic stuff; he last directed Angelina Jolie starrer A Mighty Heart. Alba is obviously looking to explore her acting chops further, while Affleck is on a long winning streak and will once again explore the dark side of human nature as he did in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Looking forward to this one.
