It's official. Aaron Taylor Johnson has signed on the dotted line to join the cast of highly anticipated Avengers sequel, Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

We reported a while back that the actor was rumoured to be joining the cast as grey haired mutant Quicksilver, but due to potential scheduling conflicts with Godzilla , we thought he might have to drop out again. Fear not though, as today, The Wrap confirmed that the 'Kick Ass' star will definitely be joining the cast of the popular Joss Whedon movie. Taylor Johnson has not been to secretive about the role speaking back in July that he was in talks to star in the film. Speaking about the potential role he said, 'I feel really flattered and honoured that they came to me for that role.' 'I think he’s an interesting character and we're just gonna keep going into that. There's years - over 50 years - of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] have been abandoned by their parents and their father, and they grew up in Eastern Europe defending and looking out for themselves and each other.

Johnson will be joined by Elizabeth Olsen who will play his on screen sister Wanda Maximoff/the Scarlet Witch. Avengers Age of Ultron doesn't hit our screens until the 1st May 2015.
