For those of you eagerly awaiting an update on the Magic Mike sequel - aren't we all? - Matthew McConaughey reassures us that it is still in the works. We're not quite sure what to expect from Magic Mike 2, what with Mr Tatum explaining a few months back that what he really wants the second time round, is more of a comedy. What's more, the project has been put on the long finger given that Channing's got a baby on the way. Can't really be leaving the missus (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) with a bun in the oven to go off and strip now can you, Tatum. Then again, a couple of 1s could go a long way towards a packet of pampers.

Anyhoo, speaking to MTV, McConaughey gave us the lowdown: "I haven't talked to Channing [Tatum] in about a month... I know it's something that's legitimately brewing. But I think he's taking some time off too because he's about to be a new dad, and good for him to do that too cause he's been cranking it out for a while... In the right way [I would come back]. It would be so much fun, but I would only be able to do to revisit Dallas if I really go 'OK, that's what he would be doing... And Dallas can't become like all of a sudden obviously comedic. I'd have to keep him the same tone. He's committed."

But what of Mr. Soderbergh? Will the 'No really, this time I'm definitely retiring' director return to helm the sequel? We wait with bated breath to find out.
